BEWARE OF EMAIL PHISHING SCAMS

If you have received a suspicious email, please contact our office directly at (012) 548 7522/3 to clear up any questions or unresolved matters.

We became aware of attempted phishing attacks. These mails were not transmitted from our e-mail servers and our web address was merely used as a pseudonym by these criminals. The matter is receiving our attention.

CYBERCRIME WARNING. Cybercrime has increased to alarming proportions and has become an everyday occurrence. E-mail communication and PDF attachments are not secure and is easily intercepted by criminals to manipulate you to make payments into incorrect bank accounts. They will make use of fraudulent documents and e-mail addresses to accomplish their goal. Since you may not always be in a position to identify these attacks

1.  In the event that you received any e-mail communication from our offices, more specifically in relation to unknown matters, you are requested to visit our website and to contact our offices telephonically on the number provided.

2.  Always confirm the origin and veracity of any e-mail before engaging with such e-mails e.g. opening links or attachments.

3.    We limit our attachment to pdf format and will almost never protected attachments with a password.

4.    We sometimes do need to protect confidential documents with a password, but furnish you with this password prior to transmission thereof which means that you will expect the communication.

5.   Please safeguard your information and systems by installing and regularly updating your anti-virus software.

6.    We will NEVER EVER notify you of a change in our banking details or provide you with or accept your banking details through e-mail.

Confirming banking details telephonically.

The best practice would be to attend our offices personally to confirm our banking details.

You may also deposit a small “test amount” into our account, whereafter you may confirm receipt thereof.

Never use the telephone numbers on any e-mails as it may be fraudulent.  Rather use the telephone numbers that have been provided to you in person or that can be found on our website.
