Principle Wage Agreement Signed: A Milestone for Stability in the Private Security Sector

We are pleased to share the signed Memorandum of Agreement concluded on 26 June 2026 between the organised employer organisations and organised labour within South Africa’s private security industry.

This agreement represents the successful conclusion of extensive negotiations and provides a clear framework for employment conditions within the sector from 1 March 2027 through 28 February 2030, subject to the relevant statutory processes. It outlines agreed increases to minimum basic salaries, allowances, medical cover contributions, and other employment conditions, providing greater certainty for employers, employees, and the industry as a whole.

Constructive engagement between employer bodies and trade unions has once again demonstrated the value of collective bargaining in promoting sustainable growth, fair labour practices, and long-term stability across the private security sector. The agreement reflects a shared commitment to balancing the needs of businesses with the wellbeing of the thousands of security professionals who play a vital role in protecting South African communities, businesses, and critical infrastructure.

We encourage all stakeholders—including security service providers, clients, industry partners, and employees—to review the attached agreement to familiarise themselves with its provisions and implementation timelines.
